Artist Reception with Kim Darling March 21
UNLEASHED by Kim Darling is on display at Ming Toy Gallery through March 30. Join us Thursday, March 21, from 6:00 to 8:00pm for a reception with the artist.
Darling is a multidisciplinary artist, public educator and independent curator exploring the intersections of social practice, painting, sculpture, place making and performance. Her work explores intersections of gender and sociopolitical issues. She has worked for over a decade as a resident artist in academic and nonprofit settings, engaging with diverse communities through her public engagement practice.
Darling holds a BFA in studio art from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and an MFA from the University of South Florida. Her work has been supported by the Nebraska Arts Council and The National Endowment for the Arts. She is the recipient of several artist-in-residence fellowships throughout the country, including Swale with Mary Mattingly, Brooklyn, NY, and Karen Kuncs Constellations Studio, Lincoln, NE.
Darling’s work has been exhibited in national solo and group exhibitions at such notable institutions as Joslyn Art Museum, Omaha, NE; USF Contemporary Art Museum, Tampa, FL; and Bond Street Print Shop, NYC, NY.
She is a parent to three fabulous children and a companion to the stunning pup, Mr. Lady. Her paint-stained hands and punk rock spirit continue to push the boundaries of art.
